New Power Solutions for Farmers, Construction Sites, and Other Large Industrial Projects

Pvilion Blog |  May 1, 2025 | By Julia Fowler

With the increased popularity of agrivoltaics, more farmers have considered shifting away from traditional generators than ever before. Pvilion’s solar powered fabric technology is bringing even more flexibility to farmers and site owners that want to increase their power-generation autonomy through the use of lightweight solar and battery systems.

Pvilion and Accu-Steel‘s 12,000-square-foot Industrial Solar Structure integrates 42 kW of solar power, as well as a cobalt-free lithium ferro phosphate (LFP) chemistry energy storage with integrated battery management system (BMS) that can store 135 kWh, providing a turnkey system with enough power to replace a 25-50kW generator. This provides users with more autonomy and enables the building to supply its own power for needs with applications such as irrigation pumps and fans, power tool charging and operating, heating and cooling, lighting, and more. These building and power systems can be custom sized to meet the exact needs of end-users.

On-Farm Applications
The power generated could meet nearly all farm electricity needs — from everyday essentials to long-term energy independence.

  • Examples include powering homes, shop lights, water heaters, heating and cooling systems, as well as heavy equipment like front end loaders, skid steerers, excavators, man-lifts, and more.
  • Great for charging and operating large amounts of small equipment like lawnmowers and handheld tools.
  • As farms continue to adopt automation, this power source supports the vision of a fully self-sustaining operation.

Rental Structure Applications
Pvilion and Accu-Steel’s Industrial Solar Structures offer a durable, high-performance alternative to typical commercial job site structures — while still being temporary and easy to relocate.

  • System generates enough power to run high-demand spaces like on-site break rooms, eliminating the need for diesel generators or long-distance electrical hookups.
  • Ideal for overnight equipment storage and recharging: ATVs, golf carts, hand tools, and machinery.
  • In cold climates, these enclosed structures allow diesel-powered equipment to stay plugged in and ready to go, reducing delays caused by cold starts.

Pvilion’s patented solar technology offers a flexible solution in place of regular fabric, where traditional heavy glass solar panels would not work. The fabric is uniquely integrated with thin, flexible, lightweight solar panels. It is designed to be waterproof, fire-retardant, UV-resistant, and durable enough to withstand extreme wind loads and weather conditions.

System Benefits:

  1. Independent: Provides power without the need for fuel or grid connection.
  2. Intelligent: Data monitoring enabled
  3. Efficient: Reduces fuel consumption up to 100%
  4. Durable: Capable of withstanding extreme weather conditions.
  5. Lightweight: Reduces solar panel weight by 40%
  6. Scalable: Systems are modular and can easily be increased to meet power needs.
System Highlights:
Silent
Modular
Waterproof
Fire Retardant
Corrosion Resistant
UV Resistant
